Southern California GPS
976-TUNA also offers private boaters exact GPS Information on where the hot bite in Southern California and Baja Coast

Example Below

Lee of South Coronado Islands
The lee has been great for yellowtail in the 15 to 20 plus pound class. Surface iron and sardines have been very effective but even better has been a nose hooked slow trolled sardine or mackerel. The yellows have been in 40 to 70 feet of water. Please be there at daybreak and remember that the bite has consistently gone down hill on the weekends due to boat pressure.
Size of Yellowtail--15 pounds with a few 25-35 ponders
Bait-
Sardine or Anchovies or Mackerel, preferable small Mackerel
Tackle-
Nothing less than 25 pound test with 40 pound highly recommended. 1-O to 5-O hooks Depending on bait.
Iron-
Both surface and Yo-Yo with surface iron working for the Yellowtail.
Method-
Bait- fly-line and surface iron.
Depth--
40 to 70 feet....
